Well guys I blew a disc in my back and had to have surgery. It looks like I will be out of luck on going to any cruises and no work on my 66 for at least 6 weeks. If you guys go to any cruises or get your cars out for a drive be sure to post some pictures.

I was out at my first show of the year last weekend. It was still chilly, but worth going. I hope we can keep the photos coming for you. Get well! Take care of yourself and try to be patient. 6 weeks isn't that long.

Even though I’m unable to do much right now I have had success getting my boys to do some work on my 66 engine build. They got the crank installed last weekend and the pistons and rods in this weekend. Making progress even though slowly.

I've been to one "Cars & Coffee" event, but that's it. I've had the car out a handful of times. A local 1/8 mile drag strip is reopening after being shut down for 7 years. Opening day is this Saturday! I'll be spectating, as I don't have a car ready for the track.

I've also been working on a buddy's 66 coupe. Engine is back from machine shop, but we haven't started assembly yet. Still working on suspension. Just trying to get it sitting on all 4's again. We got the front suspension mostly completed last weekend, and will start reassembling the rear end soon.

It's great when old tracks get a new lease on life. This Sunday, a small track that has opened / closed a few times is having their opening day for the year. No drags, but a car show. It's an 1/8 mile as well. There will be drags next month.

That’s great to hear about the drag strip opening. Even if you don’t have a car to run it’s awesome to just go and watch. My 66 engine is almost done. My son is working it on the weekends with much input from me. Our car is still in the tear down process. We have body panel repair to do and all the suspension, steering and brakes coming up this winter. Hopefully we will be able to install the engine, transmission and rear end next summer. For now I’m a total spectator. I had to get my wife to start my 82 last week and pull it out of the garage to just let it run. I hate being down but I have to be careful with my back now that I’ve had the surgery. Thanks for sharing.

I hope your healing nicely. It's great your family is helping. I've put about 3000 miles on my '80 since it was officially running again, and my wife still hasn't gone for a ride. Apparently, it's "too loud". :) And it isn't loud at all. She never met my 64 Falcon that was headers to cherry bombs. My '80 is headers into a OEM setup from a' 83 GT - including performance cats.
