I had an 08 Tahoe and honestly that thing was bulletproof! I definitely hear you on the tank size though. My current truck has a 38 gallon fuel tank! It’s nice when taking a long trip to see my daughter at Appalachian State University but definitely a 2 person job to drop that tank.

And I would be of absolutely no help! So most repairs are on hold for now as the A/C is acting up in the Burb also, UGH!
But, he did pick up my seat yesterday, and hopefully, he will put it in soon so I can try and sell the other set.
He is going to go ahead and do my wires, plugs, cap & rotor, and the rear differential gasket too.
Unfortunately, I may have to wait a little. Hubby hates the heat and we are looking at 110 days here for at least another
week or more.
Tires came in for the brown lettering issue warranty, but not confident these will be any better as the associate said they don't really
look that good. Talked to Michelin who now owns BF Goodrich and said I might have to warranty these too. Really? I am in about $650 with
tires, mounting, and balancing. Not happy! Always had Radial T/A's and now Michelin takes over and fricken ruins them with their "ozone protectant"!

I believe those tires are now made in China. Bfgoodrich tires are not the same as they used to be.

My understanding is Michelin bought BF Goodrich. They now add an ozone agent that is supposed to make
the tires last longer (why? they will sell LESS tires) and prevent cracking. I am going to go look at them later
on today and make my decision whether or not to have her send them back or put them on.

Guess I will be putting them on, not convinced they will not turn brown.
They do all have the same date code and from 2021 so not too old yet, lol.
Hey, they are replacing my 2-year-old tires, so why not.
If they end up turning brown too, will be filing another claim.

I've been following you guys and gals for mustang-related stuff because I've barely touched my cars all summer. I had big plans, but life got in the way. I've had some big projects going on around the house. I just finished up the biggest part a couple days ago. Also, dad got pretty sick and after a fairly long, tough battle, he lost the fight on July 20th. I was off work for a while and spending time 4 hrs away at their home in Virginia. There were plenty of family issues to sort out after that, and those are still very much in progress as well.

But in the midst of this, a couple friends ended up scrounging some more parts for me. One of them found me a nice set of tail lights, which I needed for the 82 capri. Another buddy snatched up a spare 302 block and crank that has already had machine work done. Those will go on the shelf for a future project.

I also stumbled across another fixer-upper 79 pace car, which I'm still working out the transport on (it's 13 hrs away). It will come with a new-in-box set of 16" TRX replica wheels from LMR, along with a good 8.8 rear and some suspension parts. I should be more excited, but I'm just digging myself a deeper hole lol! Anyway, I plan on really buckling down and getting some work done over the fall and winter. I might even sit out this deer season, except maybe a couple days of rifle to restock the freezer.

Thank you. And yes, I suspect diving back into the ol mustangs will do the trick! I was making trips back and forth from the house to the garage, cutting trim and grabbing tools. Every time I looked at the cars sitting there with new parts piled inside them, I would get a little more depressed lol. I have everything I need to paint the 79 cobra but time. So I should get to work on that around the end of September (I'm working out of town till then). I am still looking for a good 79-80 hatch, though. I've been keeping my eye out for a good one.

Changed the oil finally...and added new oil pan drain plugs and washers. The one in the front seemed to fix a persistent leak, at least temporarily. I haven't confirmed if the second one did what I needed it to yet.

Hoping to add the Maximum Motorsports steering shaft assembly soon. Also having my high flow cats and factory horn bracket welded in at a local shop in about two weeks.

I went to a car audio shop last weekend with the intent of getting a quote on a new stereo setup for the Fox. As much as I tried to convince myself I was OK with the soulless gap in the center console and no music, I needed something. The shop wasn't super busy and the guy ended up installing a new double din receiver in a little over an hour. I now have Apple Car Play in my Fox:

The passenger door speaker is missing but the rest of the speakers work OK. Next I just need to get a replacement door speaker, an amp, and a subwoofer or two.

I had a local shop weld in Flowmaster high flow cats to the offroad x pipe (it was on the car when I bought it). The car definitely seems a bit quieter and I think the cats helped get rid of most of the gas smell but I'll need to drive more to confirm.


I still have the drone, I assume due to the Flowmaster mufflers, so at some point I'm going to see about adding a new cat-back or swapping the Flowmasters for a different muffler design.

Dropped her of at Fox Restoration in Locust, NC to have the computer refurbished, distributor rebuilt, install a new Motorcraft water pump and timing cover and replace all steering and brake components to include all the hoses and lines. Also getting the rear end completely refurbished.

Got some work done to the new project pace car. New front coil springs (old ones were mia) and master cylinder. More brake parts on order. I dug all the parts out of the interior so I can assess the rust. It's not too bad but will need addressed. I did a little cleaning/ painting under the hood while I had the intake and valve covers off.
